Quality : BDRip ----------------- PLOT Street Wars 2011 English Street Wars 2011 : Elijah Kane (Steven Segal), the head of a crack undercover police unit, leads his team in a race against time to bring to justice the cold blooded gang flooding the Seattle streets with a lethal drug. Steven Seagal has ventured from movies into the world of TV with varying success. Of late, big Papa has looked a little weary in his film outings. When once he snapped many a neck with aplomb and gusto, he now doesn’t seem to have much heart for the job in hand. Obliterating evil doers just doesn’t seem to fill Steve-o with the sense of pride and fulfilment that it used to. Seagal’s first foray into TV, was the reasonably successful fly on the wall docu, Lawman. The show, kind of like Cops, with Steven Seagal, followed the ponytailed Adonis (well, if you believe Seagal himself!) around during his shifts as a genuine member of the Sherrif’s department. It was a little put on, a little stagey, but then again, most reality shows these days are. But on a side note, would you want to get arrested by Steven Seagal? Certainly, if Out For Justice was anything to go by, resisting arrest would be a bad idea. Following Lawman, Seagal opted to portray a fictional detective as well in True Justice. True Justice is pretty much your middle of the road cop show. It aspires to be something better than what it is, but sadly, is just a pale imitation of far, far better shows. Not a patch on high end shows such as 24, this delivers little more than perfunctory entertainment. Much like Seagal’s movie career has descended into low-rent his TV career, at least fictional, has started that way. It’s hardly a step up. Despite Seagal’s creative input as show creator and writer, his performance in the central role, is lacking in much enthusiasm. Or perhaps anything noticeable, but then again… this is Steven Seagal we’re talking about. The man has three facial expressions, all of which register some degree of quiet, seething contempt. Street Wars, a feature length episode from the first series, sees Seagal on the trail of drug dealers and rogue DEA agents in part one of this paint by numbers thriller. At 90 minutes, and half a story, Street Wars drags and meanders its way through a lot of muddled plotting. The storytelling is dire, with little cohesion to speak of, nor intelligence or logic. As a film of its own Street Wars doesn’t really work, nor does it actually go anywhere before its abrupt end, which for a Seagal action film, is sorely lacking in a finale. This is a problem sometimes in releasing feature length TV episodes as stand-alone features, if they require a previous or subsequent instalment to make sense. In this regard especially, fans of Seagal, picking this up expecting a complete film, may be disappointed. Though in actuality, fans should be more disappointed with the lack of action. The cast are all cardboard cut outs. A veritable collection of clichéd personalities, be it on Seagal’s unit, or the bad guys. Indeed, we never get properly introduced to the bad guy in Street Wars (who I believe is known as “Bald guy in car”). And as it transpires, he may in fact be working for a big boss above him, who we only hear by voice towards the end. It’s all very ambiguous. In part intentional, as of course it’s only half way into the story (though the cover art and DVD menu don’t actually let you know this). However, having not watched the series, for all I know this could be the end of the story anyhow. Mostly though, this is a poorly written mess, where narrative structure plays no part. Seagal himself seems only a little more engaged than usual. His character, Elijah Kane though, comes across as unlikeable and unrealistic. He’s just too damn good and everyone else a little bit shit. Kane knows everything and needs to inject no effort into anything he does, including speaking. If there’s a trap set for him, he knows well in advance. If a building is booby trapped, he knows and can dismantle it with consummate ease. Okay, this may well be standard Seagal character traits, as is his invincibility in combat, but it’s tiresome to have someone so infallible. Hell, Kane can even effortlessly pull stunning women over 30 years his junior. It’s almost caricature, and his sage, wise characteristics as leader of the group, always seem unrealistic or lazy. The Elijah Kane big book of wisdom and sage advice, is a book not worth reading, I can assure you. Largely down to his character reeking of a pure Seagal ego trip. It borders on moronic how lazy the characterisation of the shows lead is. As a fan of Seagal’s earlier, meat and potatoes work, it frustrates me seeing him in such low rent fare. The action is sparse, poorly conceived and flatly edited. Occasional orgasmic bursts of avid farting are jarring and out of place, while the poor attempt at CSI style gloss, just doesn’t work on Walmart budget. This isn’t the Seagal of old who conceived such brilliant set pieces as the bar fight in Out For Justice, or a three on one escape in Marked For Death. There’s no rhythm nor imagination, nor gritty reality to the action, nor any visual punch due to very tight filming and frantic editing, making the action (and no doubt Seagal’s doubles) indiscernible. Sadly, I can’t recommend this, even to the undemanding of genre fans. For a better example in Seagal’s recent history, check Pistol Whipped. Otherwise stick to his golden period of Under Siege and before. Street Wars 2011

Britt knows next to nothing about his father's newspapers or background, and without his father finds himself at a loss with the newspapers' employees, meetings, or even how to manage his own goals. After firing almost all his father's personal servants in the house, he eventually recalls one that he only knows as having been responsible for making his coffee, Kato (Jay Chou). For the newspaper, he hires a new secretary named Lenore Case (Cameron Diaz). The industrious and inventive Kato had long been working on the prized cars James owed and his son converted. Finding their love of cars a common ground, the two begin an unlikely friendship. Both agreeing that James had been a man of harsh temper, Britt decides to do something impulsive and settles on decapitating a public statue of his father. With Kato hidden in a car and Britt himself masked with a green cloth, he succeeds, but spots a street robbery taking place. Britt tries to help the victims but finds himself overwhelmed, and Kato sees his employer fleeing from several armed men. Kato quickly analyzes the situation, fights them off and drives a very impressed Britt home. With the incident they see their chance to do something meaningful for the first time in their lives: fight crime. Britt takes a leading role because of his bolder personality, and the two agree that to get close to the criminals they'll pose as criminals themselves. This way, their enemies would be less likely to suspect their identities or try using hostages to take advantage. Kato, using all his ingenuity and skill, builds advanced retro weaponry including his pride 'Black Beauty', an indestructible car equal parts firepower and horsepower. To spread their fame, Britt leaves the criminals he meets a business card with an email to contact who the press had dubbed 'The Green Hornet', a name Kato had suggested in a meeting with Britt's top press executives. To get an idea of plans and keeping their criminal cover, Britt tells Lenore to research and predict the Green Hornet's criminal behaviours, he himself uses his newspaper to spread news of the infamous new criminal. Protecting the law by breaking it, Britt becomes the vigilante the Green Hornet as he and Kato hit the streets. Rolling in a mobile fortress on wheels and striking the bad guys with Kato's clever gadgets, the Green Hornet and Kato quickly start making a name for themselves, but tensions soon arise between the pair. Kato is tired of being ignored in the media and being dismissed as the 'nameless thug', and Britt's obsession with his leading role causes him to belittle and mock Kato as the weaker sidekick. As the two grow fonder of Lenore, tensions erupts into a fight that nearly ends with Kato's death, and his dismissal from Britt's employ. Kato finds no sympathy from Lenore, who has also been fired by Britt due to his suspicions about an affair between her and Kato. Without his usual support, Britt starts to associate with the runner up for District Attorney, Scalon (David Harbour), a man who had indicated he wanted control of Britt's newspaper in exchange for 'compensation'. Scalon's uncompromising stance clashes with Britt's temper, and the two leave each other in a rage. Lenore however believes that journalism is all about hearing all sides, so Britt eventually agrees to meet up with Scalon. What he doesn't know is that an email had been sent to the Green Hornet, and Kato sees that the vigilante had been hired to kill Britt Reid publicly in a restaurant. At the restaurant, Scalon tells Britt about his plans to control the media and become D.A, finally admitting that he had been responsible for James' death. Britt shows him a USB he had used to record the entire conversation, but Scalon is unmoved. As it turns out, Kato in his masked persona had arrived to the restaurant and met with Benjamin Chudnofsky (Christoph Waltz), the man who controls LA's gritty underworld, and the one who had had hired him for the assassination. Kato appears in the restaurant and points a gun at Britt's head, scaring the other customers away, but for once Britt does not act recklessly in a tense situation. Finally apologizing for his behaviour to the other man, Britt convinces Kato of his sincerity, and the two turn against Scalon before Chudnofsky's men appear. The two escape together, and Chudnofsky realizes that Britt himself is the Green Hornet. With Scalon and many other gang members, they all set out in pursuit of the Black Beauty. Inside the Black Beauty, Britt assumes his Green Hornet identity while Kato heads for the newspaper offices, intending to upload the recording of Scalon's confession to the public. Chased on all sides by Chudnofsky's men who all had their own cars and guns, Black Beauty receives a beating but takes the two vigilantes safely to the office, where things descended into chaos as the remaining employees and most of the building's structure and machines get in the way of Black Beauty, Chudnofsky's men, and the police that eventually arrive to the scene. When they finally reach Britt's office, Kato holds off their enemies while Britt tries to upload the data. To his horror, there is no recorded data to be uploaded. He does not stay still for long, after seeing Chudnofsky holding Kato at gunpoint, Britt takes up Kato's mentioned training and clearly analyzes the situation before rushing in to help. Though unable to incapitate Chudnofsky he does take several mobsters out of commission, and in the distraction Kato blinds Chudnofsky. Before they could take care of Scalon, the police arrives, and Scalon quickly identifies himself and tells them to shoot the vigilantes. Unwilling to let Scalon escape and let their identities be exposed, the Green Hornet chooses to flee the scene, but not without taking Scalon down. Crashing what remained of the Black Beauty into Scalon and out the window, Britt and Kato escape through the injecter seats that, amusingly enough, Britt once jokingly suggested Kato make. Their escape is not completely smooth, for Britt had taken a bullet wound and is unable to go to the hospital without arousing suspicion, so they head to Lenore's home. After beating and pepper-spraying them, Lenore learns their identities and tries to help remove the bullet, but without proper equipment Britt is wary of the procedure. Together, the three of them hatch a plan. The next day, Britt Reid holds a press conference, claiming that the criminal Green Hornet had destroyed the office in his successful attempt to take Scalon's life. Black Beauty suddenly bursts into the area and a masked Kato announces that the Green Hornet sends the Reid family his regards, before shooting Britt and fleeing the scene. Lenore accompanies Britt to the hospital to treat his bullet wound, while a police car chases after the Green Hornet's infamous black car. Kato's latest innovation is revealled as the car switches to a white colour to throw off police suspicion, before returning to a black colour once the police car passed. The Green Hornet 2011 BRrip

Ia dirawat oleh seorang keturunan Arab bernama Abu Bakar (Asrul Dahlan) yang juga bersahabat dengan Tatiana setelah Ibu Carlo meninggal. Tatiana rajin pergi ke pengungsian untuk bertemu seorang relawan bernama Lukman (Lukman Sardi) untuk mencari tahu info mengenai Mauro. Di antara potret sosial tentang kehidupan di pengungsian itu, Merry menduga ibunya sakit keras karena terbatuk-batuk. Dokter puskesmas kenalan Tatiana dan Merry, Dr. Joseph (Ari Sihasale) diminta Merry untuk memeriksa Tatiana. Tatianapun diperiksa oleh Dr. Joseph, dan dibantu oleh Abu Bakar. Tatiana diceritakan oleh Abu Bakar mengenai berita yang disampaikan Lukman tentang Mauro beberapa hari yang lalu yang membuat Merry gembira karena menduga Mauro akan ke tempatnya. Ternyata Mauro yang berada disana tidak menyukai ibunya yang tidak pernah menengoknya, padahal itu semua adalah salah kaprah karena waktu tiba Mauro dan Tatiana selalu tidak sama. Maka, Mauro hanya meminta Merrylah yang bertemu dengannya. Hal yang diceritakan di puskesmas itu didengar oleh Merry yang ingin menjenguk ibunya, Merrypun bertekad pergi ke perbatasan sendirian dengan uang tabungannya. Cik Irene berbaik hati memberikan bekal untuk Merry. Merrypun pergi sendiri dengan menggunakan bus hingga sampai ke terminal terdekat dengan perbatasan (yang juga masih sangat jauh dari perbatasan). Bertanya kepada seorang supir, ia mengetahui jalan ke perbatasan dan nekat berjalan kaki. Abu Bakar dan Tatiana yang baru saja pulang, mengetahui Merry sudah tidak ada. Tatianapun menduga Merry mendengar pembicaraannya dengan Abu Bakar. Abu Bakarpun segera menyuruh Carlo untuk mencari Merry. Carlo sampai ke terminal terakhir dan mendapat info dari supir yang ditanyai Merry. Carlo juga berjalan kaki, tapi ia beruntung menemukan mobil pengangkut. Iapun ikut dan berhasil menemukan Merry dijalan. Segera setelah ditinggal oleh mobil pengangkut, Merry pingsan. Merrypun dibawa ke puskesmas terdekat dan cukup sehat untuk melanjutkan perjalanan. Perjalanan yang mereka lalui tidak mudah karena sedikitnya kendaraan yang lewat. Usaha yang ulet membuat mereka sampai di perbatasan. Mereka bertemu Lukman, Merry menunjukkan foto keluarganya dan hubungan darahnya denga Mauro dan Tatiana. Lukman mengatakan bahwa Mauro sudah sampai di perbatasan. Merry dan Carlo pergi ke perbatasan dimana keluarga yang berpisah saling bertemu. Disana, lewat lagu Kasih Ibu, Merry bertemu dengan Mauro. Saat mereka tengah berangkulan, Merry meluruskan kesalahpahaman Mauro. Tepat saat itu, Tatiana dan Abu Bakar datang. Tatiana segera pergi ke Mauro dan Merry, dan berpelukan. PLOT Invictus 2009 BRrip English Invictus 2009 BRrip : Invictus opens with the release of Nelson Mandela (Morgan Freeman) from prison in 1990. After being held for nearly 26 years on Robben Island as a political prisoner, Mandela's release also marks what soon becomes the end of apartheid in South Africa. A new election for President of South Africa is held, in which Mandela handily wins. For his oath, he gives a speech pledging to unite the people of South Africa. The current divide has mostly separated the Afrikaners (white South Africans that came from Europe during the 17th century) and the black natives. The resulting effects from Mandela's victory give rise to jubilation for the black population of South Africa, while the white Afrikaners feel shame and begin to feel that they're losing the country. This is punctuated by a squadron of cars carrying Mandela down a road, poor black kids playing soccer on one side, white Afrikaners playing Rugby on the other. The coach of the Rugby team tells his men to remember this day, as it marks 'the day the country went to the dogs'. Mandela's head of security Jason Tshabalala (Tony Kgoroge) soon makes a request from Mandela concerning the team. He asks for more men to keep a secure lookout for the president. The current team is made up of four black South African's. Mandela's response is to hire four white Afrikaners, ex-Special Branch men led by Etienne Feyder (Julian Lewis Jones). Upon first meeting, they immediately clash due to racial hang-ups but are forced to work out their differences, as Mandela is interested in leading by example in terms of racial equality. The Special Branch men used to were the ones who persecuted, tortured and maybe even succeeded in killing anti-Apartheid fighters. Seeing that there is no way out of it, Tshabalala says to the rest of his men, especially Linga Moonsamy (Patrick Mofokeng) that while working together they will watch what they are doing carefully. In his first days in office the tension is palpable as most of the former president's underlings (who are mostly Afrikaners) still hold their jobs. Worried that Mandela will fire them soon they begin packing boxes, awaiting the inevitable. Mandela, upon seeing this, holds a conference and makes an impromptu speech in which he says that he won't fire anyone who used to work for the old regime and that they need to work together to promote racial equality throughout South Africa. The speech goes over well without any dissenters. Mandela soon begins taking early morning walks before the sun rises. Two security team members accompany him. While walking through the streets, a blue van, making wild turns while speeding soon comes upon Mandela. While the security team fears an attack, it is merely a man delivering newspapers. We are soon introduced to François Pienaar (Matt Damon), current captain of the South African Springboks rugby team. The team is made up mostly up of white Afrikaners save for one black S.A. member named Chester, who misses upcoming games due to a hamstring injury. For many black South Africans, the Springbok name, logo and colors all represent the dark history and racial injustice of apartheid in S.A. and thus refuse to support them, rooting for England instead when they play the Springboks. With less than a year away to the World Cup in 1995 (of which South Africa is hosting), the Springboks lose more games than win, and are highly anticipated to lose early in the tournament to Australia. Mandela, having read an article in which the coach of the Springboks is replaced (with captain François still remaining), begins to think in terms of how he's going to unite South Africa and put away their differences. He sees rugby as the vehicle for such a problem. Since most Afrikaners are under the impression of losing their country's identity, Mandela aims to unite them with keeping the Springbok name and using the upcoming world cup as an example of how to overcome South Africa's apartheid past. Soon, a vote by the sports committee in South Africa unanimously agrees to change the Spingbok name, logo and colors, all former symbols of Afrikaner pride. Upon hearing this, Mandela personally travels to the committee to change their mind, saying that by keeping their former colors/name, they can reach out to Afrikaners that mostly think Mandela is out to rid South Africa of their presence. This doesn't go well with the natives and by the time Mandela leaves, he has acquired only 13 votes. Still, he sees this as progress, as those votes were enough for him to keep the Springboks. His assistant, Brenda Mazibuko (Adjoa Andoh), does not agree with him, and wishes Mandela would concern himself with more important matters than rugby, a sentiment shared by others at the office. Nonetheless, Mandela forges ahead with his own plans. Mandela invites François to tea one afternoon. One of the Afrikaners on the security team asks François how the Springboks will fare this year. Despite François promising to do their best, the Afrikaner decides that they have absolutely no chance and says all to the rest of Mandela's bodyguards. Inside his office, Mandela talks about inspiration and how to motivate under extreme pressure. Mandela mentions a poem that kept his spirits up while he was imprisoned and François says he understands, mentioning of a particular song the team sings before every match. While not directly asking François, he implies that a win for their team in the world cup could have huge ramifications for South Africa by uniting Afrikaners and the natives. Francois, in an attempt to convey Mandela's message, gives his team copies of the South African national anthem, telling them that they shouldn't mumble through the words like they used to. Most of the team crumples up their copies, saying they have no interest. Francois recants and says it is optional. They are forced, however, from Mandela, to take occasional breaks from Rugby to go out into the poorer areas of S.A. and teach rugby to the natives. At first, Chester (McNeil Hendricks), the team's only black player, is swarmed by all the kids but soon the entire team is out there helping a new generation of children to learn rugby and instill national pride, regardless of race. Francois implores his team that forms change all the time and their team is no different. Mandela is found outside his home, unconscious. His doctor claims bed rest is needed to sustain his energy but despite this Mary keeps his schedule open so that he can follow rugby. The tournament is soon underway and the Springboks surprise everyone by besting Australia. They continue to take morning runs and as they win more games, their support by both white and black Africans continue to rise. The Springboks continue to advance without much trouble. After one of their matches François proclaims that they need a break and thus head to Robben Island with their girlfriends, where Mandela was held. François, standing inside Mandela's actual jail cell, is dismayed to find how small it is (barely covering his wingspan), with a sheet on the ground to sleep on. Through voice over, the poem Mandela mentioned to François earlier is recited while the team looks over the spot where prisoners broke rocks as part of their labor service while imprisoned. The final day before the match finds the Springboks taking another early morning run. This time they are joined by both white and black South African's cheering them on to victory. Before the match the security team is nervous for Mandela, as it will be the most exposed he's ever been since taking office. Extra sharpshooters take guard on adjacent roofs while the rest of security take posts inside the stadium. A 747 plane, whose captain (David Dukas) announces full responsibility for his actions to the co-captain (Grant Swanby) (thus leading people to believe he might commit a terrorist attack), flies very low over the stadium, the words 'Go Springboks' painted underneath. The crowd erupts in cheers. The final match is between the undefeated New Zealand team and the Springboks. Nearly 62,000 fans have turned up at the stadium to watch. Chester's hamstring injury has finally healed and he's been cleared for the game. NZ has mostly shut out other teams in the tournament thus far, the closest victory still being won by 20 points. Though the odds don't favor S.A., they resolve to do their best. The game stays tied throughout and goes back and forth, South Africa mostly playing catch-up whenever N.Z. kicks a goal for three points. In the end, S.A. is able to edge out New Zealand by three points as the clock runs out. South Africa wins 15-12. After the trophy presentation the streets of South Africa are booming with excitement. Both white and black South Africans are cheering for the Springboks in celebration. Mandela's security team is seen trying to make its way through the crowd with little luck. Mandela says that there is no need for them to rush. Their national pride, at least for the moment, seems to have been somewhat restored in the eyes of themselves, much less the rest of the world. The film ends with the final recitation of the poem, Invictus (which is Latin, meaning 'unconquered').Out of the night that covers me, Black as the pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be For my unconquerable soul.In the fell clutch of circumstance I have not winced nor cried aloud.
